A New Way to Resolve Divorce in New York with NYC Private Justice
/

Getting divorced can be stressful, costly, and take a lot of time. When you add in a pandemic and a backlog of cases, it gets even worse. Eric Wrubel, long-time matrimonial lawyer, saw a way that he could change this model, and in late 2020 he started NYC Private Justice. Eric joins lawyer Shannon McNulty on the podcast to discuss a new approach to resolving divorce in New York.

Resolving the Financial Aspects of Divorce

Lawyer Eric Wrubel realized how hard it has become to get in front of a judge for a divorce trial, and he saw a better way. His company, NYC Private Justice allows you and your partner to have an in-person or virtual hearing with a private judge (retired experts in matrimonial cases), allowing you to resolve the financial aspects of your divorce without it dragging on and on which can happen in the traditional court system.

This is Not About Settlement

When you work with NYC Private Justice, you are going in front of a judge; a decision will be rendered and it cannot be appealed. So, this is the last resort when other means to come to a settlement, like mediation or collaborative law have not worked. However, Eric has found that by bringing cases to trial through NYC Private Justice, individuals may end up settling rather than going through the trial process.

As of early 2021, NYC Private Justice can only assist with divorce in many areas of New York, but he is looking forward to expanding and hopes to have all of New York covered (and beyond), down the road.
